Interdisciplinary AGEP-Winter School, University of Hohenheim / Germany 

The University of Hohenheim, supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), DAAD and AGEP, offers an interdisciplinary winter school to provide a platform for alumni of the “Development-Related Postgraduate Courses”, who are now experts, working in areas dedicated to hunger alleviation and poverty reduction in Sub-Saharan Africa. 

The Winter School comprises a one-day international conference as well as two days of internal workshops in a group of about 50 participants. The program will include input on the latest research carried out by the Food Security Center and other researchers at the University of Hohenheim, as well as presentations from external experts on the issue. 

The interdisciplinary program will involve the focus areas Food and Agriculture, Food and Energy, Food and Public Health and Food and Regional Planning. There will also be ample room for an exchange of expertise amongst the participants.

Target Group

Applicants have to be alumni or students of the of the postgraduate programs funded by DAAD in the special initiative“Development-Related Postgraduate Courses” based in, working in or coming from a country of sub-Saharan Africa.

Public Conference on Thursday 3rd December 2015

Although the Interdisciplinary AGEP-Winter School is meant for a special target group as aforementioned, we will have a public conference on Thursday, 3rd December 2015. On this special day, we will open the conference to anyone who is interested in participating in the presentations that will be offered by different speakers allotted for that day. However, due to space limitation in the allocated seminar halls we must limit the number of guests who can attend the public conference. We have created an online registration platform where you can register for the public conference (see below). Selection will be based on “first-come, first-served” basis.  The online registration platform will be closed as soon as enough members of the public have registered for the public conference. You are therefore advised to register yourself as soon as possible!
