The GIZ COP 23 side event "Where are the limits? Putting Climate Risk Insurance in Perspective" will take place on Saturday, 11 November 2017 from 4:30 pm to 6 pm, starting with meet&greet and coffee at 3:30 pm at the Deutsche Welle Office Bonn.

This GIZ event at COP 23 aims to disentangle the contribution of insurance to effective climate risk management. Experts from climate science, the private and public sector, as well as civil society will analyse real case examples with respect to the potential of insurance as part of risk management.

Bring in your cases and experience with climate risks and adaptation barriers and, together with the experts, shed light on the technical and economic limits of adaptation, viable insurance solutions and their economic limits as well as broader risk management approaches.

The event is moderated by Martin Frick, Senior Director, Policy and Programme Coordination at the UNFCCC Secretariat.

Networking with refreshments and snacks rounds up the event.
